Tips in researching colleges

1. Choose ONE school of your dreams, a “reach” school (this would be considered a stretch for you to be admitted, but on occasion, the school has accepted students with your GPA and ACT/SAT scores – give it a try!) – and the school has the areas of study you are interested in pursuing.

2. ONE “realistic” school (this should be a school that is a solid match for you because typically they will enroll students with your average GPA, ACT/SAT score) – and this school has the areas of study you are interested in pursuing.

3. ONE “safebet” school. This school is one to which you’ll most likely, probably,
almost definitely be admitted. This school may not be at the top of your list – but it’s a
good ‘fall back’ school if other options don’t work out for you – and the school has the
areas of study you are interested in pursuing.
